This interactive piece is part of the Flinging Prayer series inspired by Berachot 31b where we learn that “Channah cast words to G-d on high.”

Created with the help of those attending A Letter Unread: Drisha Arts Fellows Present a Year of Learning and JOFA’s Putting Women Back in the Picture Celebrarion, this piece captures their deepest desires and prayers. Each participant wrote his/her prayer on a fabric carrier and flung it at the final piece with the use of a small catapult. Throughout the programs, the piece took shape as our individual prayers were joined to create a collaborative fiber artwork. The video shows attendees at JOFA’s Celebration in November 2011 flinging their prayers.
