Created for Dr. Anne Lapidus Lerner as a gift from the Women’s League of Conservative Judaism, this piece emphasizes Dr. Lerner’s wisdom and draws from her research on the Creation story. Two hands hold an apple made from sheer fabric containing excerpts from the Creation story. The apple is stuffed with colorful sheer fabrics that represent the many interpretations and midrashim that can be found hidden within the text. These colors spill out of a “bite mark” in the apple and onto the background along with a quote from Eishet Chayil which says “Give her the fruit of her hand and she will be praised in the gates by her deeds.”
