Today, I put together the roof for Temporary Shelter. It is intentionally created from sheer fabrics so the light can come in. And the blues that it is comprised of represent the peace that we wish for all those in the shelter system. This was inspired by the evening prayer that asks God to “spread over us Your shelter of peace.”
This was the last component of the piece that had to be constructed, so now it’s just a matter of assembling the whole thing. I have a partial plan for how to do this, but will admit I’m a little concerned about the lack of space in my apartment to really test out the whole assembly. Hopefully, those creative problem solving skills from my mechanical engineering days will kick in!
