I have been working on a piece that represents the first part of the weekday morning service. Since this section of the service is rooted in the physical world, thanking God for our many blessings, I am using the heavier fabrics that I used in the Psukei D’Zimrah piece. I designed this new piece in AutoCAD – a program I have from my engineering days. It works well for these kinds of quilts and I was able to create a pattern for paper-piecing in AutoCAD. From that pattern, I matched fabrics with each section, choosing 6 blue fabrics for the subtle Star of David points. Below are pictures of the pattern and process. Now, each section needs to go together!
